GreenFinder Participates in National Stakeholder Engagement Session on Malaysia’s Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS)

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – GreenFinder Sdn Bhd participated in the Stakeholder Engagement Session on the Development of Malaysia’s Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS), organized by Agensi Angkasa Malaysia (MYSA). The session brought together government agencies, industry representatives, technical experts, and stakeholders to discuss the future development of Malaysia’s Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) infrastructure.

The engagement session served as a national consultation platform to gather feedback and industry perspectives on the planned implementation of Malaysia’s SBAS infrastructure. The initiative represents a significant step toward enhancing the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), including GPS and Galileo, through the provision of satellite-based correction and integrity information.

During the session, MYSA presented the national roadmap for SBAS implementation and highlighted its alignment with established augmentation systems operating in Australia, Japan, Europe, and other regions. Discussions covered key technical, operational, and policy considerations, including system interoperability, supporting data infrastructure, user equipment readiness, regulatory frameworks, and opportunities for public-private collaboration.

For GreenFinder, the engagement provided valuable insights into Malaysia’s evolving navigation and positioning ecosystem, particularly in areas relevant to maritime digitalization and intelligent transportation systems. As a company actively involved in maritime technology, environmental intelligence, and digital monitoring solutions, GreenFinder recognizes the significant potential of SBAS technology in supporting safer and more efficient maritime operations.

The implementation of SBAS is expected to deliver substantial benefits across multiple sectors, including aviation, maritime transportation, logistics, agriculture, autonomous systems, and smart mobility applications. Within the maritime domain, enhanced GNSS accuracy and integrity can contribute to improved vessel navigation, safer port approaches, better vessel traffic management, and increased situational awareness for maritime authorities and operators.

GreenFinder views the development of Malaysia’s SBAS capability as a strategic national initiative that will strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure while supporting future innovations in navigation, autonomous operations, and location-based services. The company remains committed to supporting technological advancements that enhance maritime safety, operational efficiency, and sustainable digital transformation.
